Misplaced again

Is it so hard? The Sunday Age was outside the shop again: I've informed The Saturday Paper and The Age about the incorrect delivery. The crossword was fine except for one I'm not sure of (children's toy etc.), We had leftover anchovy pasta for lunch and now for a nap. And, gird the loins, the big biography is back again, so it will be a busy week. We had dumplings and new French onion soup for dinner, then Mystery Road, The Axe (we'll have to go back and watch earlier episodes) then news then bed. Cycling tomorrow.

Papers misplaced

Again, the papers arrived at 66 not 68. Oh well! At least we got them, such as they are. Today, back to the big novel after a peruse of the papers. We had cheesy tomato soup for lunch, and now for a nap. We raided the fridge for leftovers for dinner, then soothed the spirit (yawn) with Grantchester and the final The Split, followed by news. Cycling was on late so will have to wait till tomorrow.

Back to work

I have to get on with the big novel as the BIG biography is likely to be back by the end of the weekend. I did a bit of work on it, though not enough before having a rest before lunch, which was vegie soup. Now for a real nap. P. valiantly made pork casserole for dinner, then it was travel programs, a new show Time, then cycling to the end of this stage. Two to go.

All happening

The BIG biography is back from the proofreader and the author and I will have to decide how to deal with it. I still haven't finished the big novel, so I suppose I'll have to get my arse into gear soon and get back to work. Meanwhile, across the other side of the world, L&L have visited two of our favourite places in Provence, l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and Fontaine de Vaucluse, but not l'Abbaye de Senanque or Gordes. I did a bit on the big novel while P. went to the shops for sangos for lunch and the paper. The author of the big biog. is beavering away at it, so it won't be with me for a bit. Now for a nap. We've ordered pizzas for dinner as neither of us feel like cooking. We watched the backview of Foreign Correspondent, then Monroe, Connery, news and cycling.

A very quiet day

P. tested negative to Covid. I spent over half-an-hour updating my credit card details for The Australian. You'd think Rupert would know how to take money easily. Now for a short rest before lunch even though I am feeling a lot better. We had the last of the French onion soup for lunch, and now for a nap. P. heated up the last of the osso bucco and risotto for dinner and we watched usual Wednesday night so-called comedy, then a new series, Too Close, then a bit of cycling.

Boring admin

I've received a new credit card which is great but now I have to contact everyone I have periodic payments with to let them know my new expiry date. As well, my internet provider has introduced a new security system which requires a code via SMS which I haven't got. I could use P.'s but he's not always here or available. It was sorted out by ANZ using email instead. I hope it works. L.&L. are living it up on simple French produce in Provence, poor things. P. went off shopping and for a Covid test and brought home sangos for lunch. Now for a nap. I made anchovy pasta for dinner then we watched Tuesday teev finishing with a dose of biking. P. is still poorly though I am improving.

Tours

I got up reasonably early to see the end of the men's Tour (we watched the beginning of the women's last night). After breakfast, it's back to bed. Up again for some soup for lunch, now back to bed. P. made some risotto to go with Sally's donated osso bucco which made a very good meal. Now for regular Monday night teev finishing with the Tour part two.

Crossword and rest

The replay of the Tour delivered nought unexpected. The Sunday Age arrived, though in the wrong place again. The crossword was despatched easily though there was one wrong clue: there were not many Dutch landscape painters in the SEVENTH century. We muddled along for the morning, Sal collected the tickets for this arvo's concert and delivered an unneeded care package (food, a jumper and dressing gown). Now for a nap. Settling in for leftovers then Lumley (Rome, surprisingly good), Mystery Road and maybe a bit of cycling.

Papers and a rest

The papers arrived but in the wrong spot (outside Maria's shop) and after a quick perusal it was back to bed. Up again in the arvo to tidy up the computer, feeling a lot better. We had some cheesy tomato soup while reviewing the bike race. Then we watched Grantchester (for a relax), The Split (because it's good) and the bike time trials for a while.

A quiet day

A fairly routine day with a lot of sleeping, though emerging for meals. P. made avocado before dinner for which we had French onion soup then we watch online Louis Dickins' play at The Courthouse: Cheer up Carl, then cycling.

A glimmer of light

I woke at a normal time this morning, hurkle-durkled a bit too long listening to the radio, then got up for pills and breakfast, then back to the computer. I don't know how long I'll last but we'll see. I actually got back to a bit of work (teensy) tidied the emails and went back to bed for a couple of hours. Now feeling, refreshed I got up for lunch while P. went off for some shopping.

The answer is no

so I've cancelled the car and let Noel know. Now back to bed. Genie says to have the Covid jab the hospital is offering to transplant patients, 'absolutely yes', so I went back to bed for the rest of the day. We had takeaway Vietnamese for dinner, then Gruen, Macalef and another rest. Resurfaced for the last part of the Tour, and while P. went to bed, I stayed till the thrilling end and felt better for it.

Slow turnaround

I slept in a bit this morning, but arose for a bit of lunch, then back to bed, but didn't do the marathon sleep I did yesterday. Then got up and dealt with my emails quite competently. I'm feeling back to almost normal. Frank and P. went of to A Winter's Tale while I puddled at home quite happily. Will I feel up to shopping tomorrow?

Departures and snoozing

Mark and Nick headed off early this morning. I snoozed nine-to-five (that's no way to earn a living). Now for a night of teev and nibbling on bits and pieces. An extraordinary piece on 4Corners about cosmetic surgery in China. Then China Tonight, then news then bed.

Slept in till nearly lunchtime today

and didn't have lunch but finished the crossword, luminosity and (obviously) this blog (abbreviated). Now it's back to bed. I'm obviously not well, my typing (corrected) is terrible.

Still fuzzy

I had a not-bad night and slept in till 10.30am. After surfacing for a coffee and a pee, no papers!! P. went off to get some of them, while Mark and Nick went off to the Vic Market. Back to bed after some weeties. P. and I didn't go to dinner at the Carringbush Hotel for fear of inefcting others. Then I was back to bed after a bit cycle watching.

Not a well budgie

I woke up this morning feeling not very well, so after breakfast and pills went back to bed where I've stayed most of the time since. We cancelled the film course for fear of infection. Nick and Mark are arriving about 4pm and P. has stepped into the breech on beef burgundy. My RAT is negative and I think I've just got a bad cold. Back to bed. Nick and Mark arrived bearing Maggie's household stuff in a big van and went off to see her in town (and Morgan). Still feeling coldish but a bit better sp went to bed early a bit into the bike race.

Big novel plus Handel

This morning, I spent some time on the big novel, while P. went off for lunch with Margaret N. and Lee C. After a nap, we went to Horn Please in St George's Road for a very good Indian dinner with Frank, thence to Baroque Genesis for a brilliant performance of Handel's Acis and Galatea. Home for news and more cycling.

Shopping plus not much

We did normal shopping this morning, visited Noel and came home for fish patties (yawn). After a nap, I made Peruvian tuna patties for dinner which were a bit bland, then normal Wednesday night teev followed by a bit of cycling.

The BIG novel

This morning, a bit more research for a later Milawa trip, then on with the BIG novel. I'm about a third of the way through now, though I'll have to go back over some of it to be sure. We had leftover pea-and-fish curry for lunch and now it's naptime. I finished off the French onion soup for dinner, then we watched, Vet on Who Do You Think You Are, Carbon: a biography, then a bit of both news and biking, then bed.

A little job

I was diverted from getting back to the BIG novel by a request for clarification on a job I did ages ago, so I've done that. Also, the trip to Sydney became too hard when Virgin cancelled our flight (both major airlines seem to be doing it a lot lately) and moved us to a much earlier one, too early, and the organisers of the Moss Vale function changed their dress rules to 'formal'. I long ago vowed never to attend a 'formal' function. So I've had to unravel all of that. My suggestions on the earlier job have been accepted. Now it's lunchtime and we're having cheesy tomato soup then a nap. P. made roast pork for dinner with all the trimmings, then it was Heather Ewart in Leeton, 4Corners, Media Watch,

Home again and very busy

We got back on Friday around lunchtime and since then I have been mostly unravelling the end of month which happened while we were away. I have done one load of washing but still haven't finally unpacked. Yesterday morning, Saturday, we did normal shopping and popped in on Noel with his shopping. We had the usual salmon patties and a nap. After a nap, we went to our NAIDOC event, the Indigenous women's singing 'choir', Spinifex Gum, rather grandiosely accompanied by the MSO and a large kiddies choir (mainly girls). It was absorbing (and exhausting for the performers) but a bit one-dimensional with little variation in tone. We preceded with a good meal at Superhiro then afterwards watched the last episode of True Colours. Today, there was no paper AGAIN as there wasn't yesterday. Are the papers trying to hasten their own demise? P. went to the shops to get the paper for the crossword and we had quiches for lunch, now for a nap. I then made fish-and-pea curry for dinner, and we watched French archaeology, then Mystery Road: Origin, then back to the cycling in France. Tomorrow, back to work.
